About me
Hello! I am Malahat Hosseini, the founder and sole designer of Luminous Cloud.
I see design as a practice of creating futures. We all design, and we all live in a world shaped by other people’s decisions. The quality of our lives is deeply affected by the design of our environments, our tools and our everyday things. I like to close my eyes and see the people who use what we build, feel more motivated, more empowered, more in love with their work and their day. I am driven to design on that vision.
MY OVERARCHING PRINCIPLE
I start from stories
To me, the story of the future is the basis of product design. Stripped of tools and technology, it’s a simple account of how a person’s life is transformed by the product or feature. A feature or product is valuable to a user as much as that story is a good story. In a good story, a user is not just satisfied by their task, they are satisfied by the job and by extension their sense of self in life.
My style
I value pragmatism and collective intelligence
I am a big picture thinker and like to work smart. My academic training in design helps me stick to principles and be creative in finding or creating the right fit of methods or processes that fit the unique characteristics of each project. I believe in the power of the collective in creating innovation and refining ideas, and see my role as the vessel that hears the core of the user needs and desires and weaves teams ideas to what I can elevate through my 15 years experience as a product designer.
